Painting is a matter of perception: the strength and measure of artist’s imagination is his sight and soul. The paintings of Anna Daria Merska show that the nature with its rich existence and mutability is an inexhaustible source of pictorial stimuli. The affirmation of universe and the overlap of dimensions experienced by the artist transpires under influence of her inner atmosphere, moods and emotionality. From within of her paintings flow the streaks of light. They emanate through clearances in the heavenly curtain, gleam among the trees, reflect in the water. Technically, they radiate from the coloring. The painter renders the colorful tissue of reality without ever describing it. She expresses herself with the help of suggestive stirring forms. She creates an allusion or rather an optical suggestion of landscape by means of abstract color patches, constantly appealing to the spectator’s imagination.
